Thanks Everybody For All Your Good Wishes

As I've mentioned here last week, my mom was operated on for cancer on Friday at UCSF hospital. It was a long surgery but I'm happy to report that she's out of the hospital, back home again and her usual feisty self. It'll be a week before the full biopsy results are in but everyone is encouraged and hoping for the best. My mom is tough.

It's been a long and stressful week  for our family and I'm glad we all got through it in one piece. I want to thank each and every one of you who sent good wishes, thoughts and prayers to us. This whole experience has given me a new appreciation of the connection we all have on these internet tubes. In times like this, there's a whole lot to be said for the social network.

I'm going to be doing some cooking for my parents this week. Of course nothing with salt, spices, or any particular flavor as my mother barely trusts me in the kitchen. She's always accusing me of eating "all those organ meats" I don't know who she's been talking to but the last time I ate organ meats she was the one feeding me liver and calling it Hollywood Steak. I was 9 years old.

"Please, No Organ Meats!"

Meanwhile I'll be working on some Indian recipes, not involving any "organ meats". One in particular perfect for these hot summer days and totally organ meat free, is Papaya Salad with Walnut and Watercress.

  3. Don't forget to take care of yourself as well. Your mommy looks beautiful even in a hospital bed.
