I will be visiting my family in about 4 weeks..will definitely give you the recipe and if it helps, the version we make is oil/fat free (i think pork has enough!)..but the key ingredient is a spice mix we call bafat (a particular kind of dry red chilli is the main ingredient) - will try and get the recipe for that too..
And I checked regarding vindaloo with mum as well..Even she said we don't use potatoes with pork and "Aloo" is for the garlic..Maybe you could check with any Portuguese friends you have?

We had to leave our two kitties with a friend in Ohio when we moved here three years ago:( I miss the cuddling and the purring:) I promised the girls that we'll get at least one kitten fairly soon.
That cat is gorgeous!
And vindaloo looks amazing! I have never tried to make it, even though I almost always order it in Indian restaurants. Love Paula's tip - those dishes only improve when reheated and you feel better with all that fat gone:)

My dog is like a cat too...so many I need to get a cat? Or find a neighbor like yours? I've lived in my home for 20 years and I love this place; but I've never had such poor neighbors. Most are so anti-social I've always wondered why they didn't buy a loft, suburbia seems to call for friendly over the fence chats, cocktails, bbq's and more!

I hail from Mangalore, India and have been following your blog forever and love it especially your passion for Indian cuisine which I love too (mostly South Indian coastal food and not the generic North Indian kind). Like Goans, Mangloreans are big on pork too (infact it is their main meat for celebrations/festivities). Hope to see many more pork recipes from you and hopefully some Manglorean ones too..Our traditional masala is called "Bafat" and we have our own version of Sorpotel and Chilli Pork which is awesome (no Vindaloo though as we weren't a Portuguese colony but some reason i thought it was called so because of vin-vinegar and aloo-garlic)..

The purrs and snuggles all have to be conducted on the down low as Patsy The Siberian Husky or Pet #1 as we call her is definitely NOT liking the cat action. Johnny is merely on loan to us. If you feed him, he will come. I've never been a cat person but I absolutely adore this puddy maybe because he's not a cat person either!

I'm loving both the Vindaloo and the cat. We lost both of our cats in the last two years and now that we have two maltese pups, there will be no more cats as they feel about cats about the way you Johnny Depp does. I miss those purrs and snuggles though...
